“I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers”…

- Claude Monet

He says it best. To me gardening and painting are the same things – just a canvas. One has to consider, light, composition, color, contrast, texture, etc. I love to paint gardens and flowers with a sense of light and joy. They provide an organic, unstructured basis for my art.

My favorite medium is acrylics because they are so forgiving and versatile. I often work on canvas wrapped in rice paper.

There is another side to my work, which is abstract. These paintings convey a thought or an idea through color, textures, symbols and mixed media.

I am President of Art League North, and have shown with Skagit Artists Together and Dewey Beach Gallery, Scott Milo Gallery and The Majestic Hotel.
